Ratefold: Hospital Shift Pay — Terms of use
Last updated 31 October 2026
Ratefold: Hospital Shift Pay ("Ratefold") is published by Chibu LLC. By using it you agree to these terms. If you got Ratefold from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) also applies, and where the two differ for an App Store copy, Apple's agreement governs.
What is free
Logging shifts by hand or with the clock, your differentials folded into the federal 40-hour weekly overtime figure, reports, the calendar, every past pay period, export, backups and the passcode lock. They stay free.
The free week
On Google Play, one tap in Ratefold opens Ratefold Pro for 7 days, with no card and no purchase. Nothing is charged and nothing renews when the week ends: Pro simply locks again, and every shift you entered stays visible and exportable.
On iPhone, the free week is Apple's 1-week free trial of the yearly subscription, for new subscribers. Starting it is a purchase in the App Store: when the week ends, the yearly price is charged to your Apple Account unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
What you can buy
Ratefold Pro adds an estimate of your pay after taxes, the 8-and-80 rule, California daily and seventh-day overtime, more than one job, on-call and call-back pay, and the paystub check. The after-tax figure is an estimate from this year's official withholding tables and your answers; it isn't your employer's payroll or tax advice.
- Yearly: $24.99 a year (US price). It renews automatically each year at the same price until you cancel. Google Play takes the payment when you confirm. Cancel any time in your Google Play subscription settings; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. On iPhone, it is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm, or when the free week ends, and it renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel any time in Settings: tap the name at the top, then Subscriptions.
- Monthly: $3.99 a month (US price). It renews automatically each month at the same price until you cancel. Google Play takes the payment when you confirm. Cancel any time in the same settings; you keep Pro until the end of the month you paid for. On iPhone, it is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in the same Settings.
Prices are set in the store and shown in your currency before you confirm. If a subscription price ever changes, the store tells you first, as its own rules require.
Refunds
Purchases are made through Google Play, and refunds are Google Play's to grant under its refund policy (in Google Play's help). On iPhone, purchases are made through the App Store, and refunds are Apple's to grant under its policies.
Restoring
Use "Restore purchases" on the Ratefold Pro screen, signed in to the same store account.
Your content
The shifts, rates and rules you enter stay on your phone and are yours.
No warranty
Ratefold is provided as it is. It computes gross pay from the rules you enter, under the method in the U.S. Department of Labor's Fact Sheet #54. It is not your employer's pay record and not legal or tax advice: if your contract pays differently, your contract decides.
Changes
If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new date.
Contact
The developer contact email shown on Ratefold's Google Play listing. It is the same address for the iPhone app.
