Pellucine — Privacy Policy

Effective 31 October 2026, for Pellucine 1.0.3 and later, the versions that sell Pellucine Pro. This covers Pellucine for Android, Pellucine for iPhone and iPad (see On iPhone and iPad, below), and Pellucine used in a web browser.

The short version

Pellucine keeps your songs and recordings on your phone. It has no account and no sign-in. Nothing you make leaves the phone unless you send it yourself, as a backup or an export, or your phone's own backup includes it (see Android's own backup, below). There are no ads, no usage tracking and no crash reporting.

Pellucine Pro is sold through Google Play, and on iPhone and iPad through the App Store, as a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. To know whether you own it, the app asks RevenueCat, the app's billing service, soon after it starts. That sends RevenueCat a random app user ID and basic app and device details even if you never buy; if you buy, your purchase goes too. See Purchases, below.

The rest of this page says the same thing in more detail, so you can check it.

What Pellucine keeps, and where

Everything below is stored on your phone, in Pellucine's own private storage. Pellucine puts it nowhere else (Android's own backup is covered below):

microphone settings the phone actually applied to it.

recording delay with any fine adjustment you made to it.

Trash for 30 days so you can bring it back. You can choose "Delete forever" in Trash at any time. Once 30 days have passed, it is removed for good the next time Pellucine opens.

copy of the earlier data on the phone first, and if saved data ever cannot be read it is set aside rather than thrown away. These copies stay on the phone too.

We cannot see any of it, and we have no copy of it. If you lose your phone or uninstall the app, we cannot get it back for you, which is why the backup below exists.

Taking your songs with you

Pellucine can make a backup file of every song and every take, and restore from it. The file is an ordinary zip archive: your songs as data, your takes as WAV audio, and one plain-text sheet per song with the chords above the lyrics, so your words can be read without Pellucine in any unzip tool (the file ends in .pellucine; some computers open it only once it is renamed to end in .zip). The app tells you how big the file will be before it is written.

The backup is handed to your phone's share sheet, and you decide where it goes. To do that, Pellucine first writes the file into its own private temporary storage on the phone. You can also copy the backup as text, which puts it on your phone's clipboard for you to paste where you choose; the text holds your songs but not your recordings. Once a backup leaves Pellucine it is in the place you chose (your files, a cloud drive, an email), under that service's own privacy terms, not ours.

With Pellucine Pro, Export makes a song's audio, stems, MIDI file or chord sheet on the phone and hands the files to your share sheet in the same way. They go only where you send them.

Android's own backup

Android can back up an app's private storage to your Google account if you have turned on backup in your phone's settings, and Pellucine does not switch that off. That backup is made by Android, under your Google account and Google's privacy policy; Pellucine does not send it and we cannot see it. Whether it carries your songs and recordings has not been tested, so do not rely on it: make a Pellucine backup file instead.

The microphone

Pellucine asks to use the microphone only when you tap Record, or run the recording delay check (before your first take, or later in Settings). It never asks at launch. It listens only while a recording or delay check is running, and what it records is saved on the phone as described above. You can say no, or turn the permission off later in your phone's settings; everything except recording keeps working.

The Android permissions the app declares are:

PermissionWhy
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO)To record your voice over the progression. The take stays on the phone and leaves it only through a backup or an export you make, or if your phone's own backup includes it.
Audio settings (MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS)Lets playback and the microphone run together while a take records. It does not show a prompt.
Internet (INTERNET)Declared by the app wrapper Pellucine runs in, and used by the store connection described under Purchases: Google Play's and RevenueCat's own code, not the app's screens. The app's own security policy lets its pages load only the app's own files, so they cannot connect to any other server.
Google Play billing (com.android.vending.BILLING)Lets Google Play take a purchase of Pellucine Pro. Declared by Google Play's billing library. It does not show a prompt.
Network state (ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE)Declared by the billing library, to know whether the store can be reached. It does not show a prompt.

(the code that draws the screens) and Capacitor (the wrapper that turns it into an Android app, or an iPhone and iPad app), and, for purchases, RevenueCat's SDK and Google Play's billing library (on iPhone and iPad, Apple's StoreKit), described under Purchases. None of them sends your songs or recordings anywhere.

Purchases

Pellucine Pro is sold through Google Play as a yearly or a monthly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. If you buy it, the purchase is made in Google Play, and Pellucine uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.), its billing service, to know what your store account owns.

Exactly what leaves your phone, and who receives it. Pellucine asks RevenueCat what this install owns soon after it starts (each time it shows a screen with Pro in it), whether or not you ever buy, and again when you buy or restore:

what you own (it is not your name, email, Google account or any device identifier);

currency, whether it was a restore, and from then on the dates, trial and renewal state that RevenueCat reads back from Google Play;

version, RevenueCat's code version, the Google Play Billing Library version, the Android version number, the phone's brand and model, the phone's and the app's language, the store country, and whether the app is open or in the background;

Android ID, or anything you enter in Pellucine. (On Android its code collects device identifiers only when an app sets an advertising-attribution ID, and Pellucine sets none; its diagnostics reporting is off. On iPhone and iPad it does send one device identifier: see On iPhone and iPad, below.)

method, the item, the price and the order. Google's billing library on your phone may also send Google technical information about the purchase flow. All of that is governed by Google's privacy policy, not this one, and Pellucine never sees your payment details.

RevenueCat uses all of this only to tell Pellucine what you own, on this phone and when you restore on another, and to show the developer sales totals. It processes it on the developer's behalf, as a service provider. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

The free week (on Android; on iPhone and iPad the trial is Apple's): when you start it, Pellucine keeps the date it started in its own storage on this phone. It is not part of your exports, and starting, running or ending it sends no data anywhere and asks neither Google Play nor RevenueCat.

To have that purchase record deleted, email the developer contact address shown on Pellucine's Google Play or App Store listing, and it will be deleted in RevenueCat. Google keeps its own record of the payment under Google's privacy policy.

In a web browser Pellucine sells nothing and does not contact RevenueCat.

What the store sees

You download Pellucine from Google Play, so Google knows that your Google account installed it, as it does for every app, under Google's own privacy policy. Google shows us figures for the app as a whole, such as install counts and ratings, any review you choose to post, and, if you have allowed your phone to share usage and diagnostics with Google, crash and performance reports that Google collects itself (these describe the phone, such as its model and Android version, not your songs). Pellucine adds nothing to what Google collects.

If you buy Pellucine Pro, Google Play takes the payment and keeps its own record of it under Google's privacy policy. Pellucine never sees your payment details.

If you buy Pellucine Pro on iPhone or iPad, Apple takes the payment and keeps its own record of it under Apple's privacy policy, in the same way. See On iPhone and iPad, below.

If you use Pellucine in a web browser, its files are delivered by a web server the way any web page is, and that server receives the ordinary technical details every browser sends with a request, such as an IP address and browser type. After the first visit the app runs from your browser's own storage. From then on it only asks that same server for newer copies of its own files, and it never sends your songs, recordings or anything about you.

Children

Pellucine is not made for children. It asks no one, children included, for a name, an email, an age or any contact details. The only data about anyone that the app sends is what Purchases describes.

Your choices and your rights

Your songs and recordings leave your phone only when you send them (or your phone's own backup includes them), so there is nothing of them held by us to access, correct or delete. The one record held elsewhere is the purchase record described under Purchases; to have it deleted, email the address shown on Pellucine's Google Play or App Store listing. You stay in full control of your data on the device:

and iPad, delete the app). Make a backup first if you want to keep anything.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Pellucine changes anything on this page, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. That version will say plainly what it handles and who for.

On iPhone and iPad

Pellucine for iPhone and iPad is the same app and keeps the same promises. What differs:

1-week free trial for new subscribers), a monthly subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple takes the payment in its own purchase sheet and keeps its own record under Apple's privacy policy; Pellucine never sees your payment details or your Apple Account. RevenueCat receives what Purchases describes, with Apple in place of Google Play: the random app user ID, and only if you buy or restore, the App Store transaction (the product ID, its price and currency, and from then on the dates, trial and renewal state RevenueCat reads back from Apple), plus the app and device details any app sends (the app's version, the system version, the device model, the language and the App Store country) and your IP address. RevenueCat's iOS code also sends, with every request, Apple's identifier for vendor: a random ID iOS gives one developer's apps on a device, which resets when all of that developer's apps are removed. It is not your name, your Apple Account or the advertising identifier. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, payment details, advertising identifier, or anything you enter in Pellucine.

That backup is made by Apple's system, under your Apple Account and Apple's privacy policy; Pellucine does not send it and we cannot see it. check. You can turn it off in Settings at any time.
